Concrete Patios · Waco, TX
Concrete Patios in Waco, Texas
Patios run $8 to $25 a square foot around Waco depending on finish, from plain broom-finish flatwork up to full paver work. We also build and resurface the deck and surround hardscape around pools you already have.
Patios Built to Actually Get Used
The right finish and the right base prep matter more than the pattern you pick off a sample board.
The Right Finish for How You'll Use It
Broom-finish flatwork is the budget option and works fine under a covered patio. Stamped concrete adds a stone look for less than real pavers cost. Pavers give you the most flexibility to repair a single section later without matching old concrete color. We help you pick based on budget and use, not just what looks best in a photo.
Slope-Away Grading Keeps Water Off the House
Every patio gets graded to carry water away from your foundation, roughly a quarter inch of drop per foot minimum. Skip that and you get standing water against the house every time it rains, which on clay soil is exactly what causes foundation movement.
Base Prep Scaled to the Load It Carries
Patios carry foot traffic and furniture, not vehicles, so wire mesh instead of rebar does the job here. We still compact a real base and run 3,500 PSI mix. The difference from a driveway is reinforcement, not corners cut.

One Project Manager, Real Patio Specialists
Every project is run by a dedicated Pro Landscaping project manager and built by our vetted, insured Waco-area crews. The crew forming, finishing, or setting pavers on your patio does that work regularly, not as one stop on a five-trade week.
Your project manager walks the drainage plan and finish choice with you before anything gets poured, and stays on the job through the last finish pass.
Pool Decks & Surrounds
We build and resurface the concrete deck, coping, and surround hardscape around pools, not the pool itself. If you already have a pool, or you're having one built by a separate pool contractor, we handle the deck: broom-finish or stamped concrete with a non-slip texture, drainage graded away from the pool shell, and coping that ties the deck edge into the pool structure cleanly.
Pool decks need an expansion joint between the deck slab and the pool coping, because the pool structure and the surrounding deck move independently, especially on our clay soil. Skip that joint and the two surfaces crack against each other within a year or two. We isolate the deck from the pool shell as standard practice.
To be clear: we do not build or install pools. We build the concrete deck, surround, and coping around a pool you already have or one being built by a licensed pool contractor.

Patio Questions Waco Homeowners Ask
How much does a concrete patio cost in Waco?
Broom-finish flatwork runs $8-$12 a square foot, stamped concrete runs $12-$18, and paver patios run $12-$25. Pool deck and surround work runs $14-$22. Every estimate is itemized and free.
Do you build pools?
No. We build and resurface the concrete deck, coping, and surround hardscape around a pool you already have or one being built by a separate pool contractor. We don't build or install the pool itself.
Do I need a permit for a patio?
Standalone backyard patios usually don't need a City of Waco permit. If the patio ties into structural work or sits near the property line, we'll tell you upfront if a permit applies.
Why does my patio need control joints?
Concrete cracks as blackland clay shifts underneath it. Control joints, cut at set spacing, give the slab a planned place to crack instead of splitting randomly through the middle of your patio.
How long does a patio project take?
Most patios take 3-6 days from forming to finishing, depending on size and whether it's stamped. Add a few weeks of cure time before sealing a stamped surface.
Do I need to seal my patio?
Stamped and decorative patios need sealing to protect the color, reapplied every 2-3 years. Plain broom-finish concrete doesn't require sealing, though it can help with staining.
What's the difference between a pool deck and a regular patio?
A pool deck needs a non-slip surface texture and an expansion joint separating it from the pool coping, since the pool and the deck move independently. A standard patio doesn't need either of those details.
